Update an internal user
Update a Harbor Soho internal account from Access > Users, including the visible profile, User ID, optional password reset, access type, avatar and role assignments.
In this article
Internal users are accounts managed inside Antylogic for a specific organisation or location. In the Harbor Demo Group documentation flow, the main path is the Harbor Soho location user detail screen.
Use this guide when a manager needs to correct an internal account, rotate access details, switch between Employee and Device access, or keep scoped roles aligned with the operator's responsibilities.
Before you start
- You are signed in with Harbor Demo Group selected and Harbor Soho selected as the active location.
- The target account is an internal user in the current scope. Users authenticated only through another provider open in the standard user detail view instead of the internal edit form.
- You can view users in the current scope. To change profile, User ID, password, access type or avatar, you also need users:manage.
- To see roles you need permissions:view or permissions:manage. To tick or untick role checkboxes, you need permissions:manage.
Instructions
- 1.
Open the internal user
From Harbor Soho, go to Access > Users and open the internal user row. The detail page loads the account for the selected location and shows the internal edit form only when internal access exists for that scope.
- 2.
Review editable details
Check the name, avatar, User ID, access type, email, phone and current roles. The password field is blank in edit mode; use it only when setting a new password.
- 3.
Update profile or login details
Edit the profile, User ID, access type, avatar, email or phone as needed. Leaving the password empty keeps the existing password. If you upload an avatar, wait for the upload to finish before saving.
- 4.
Adjust roles
If role checkboxes are available, tick or untick the roles this internal user should have in the current location. Role changes can be saved together with profile changes or on their own when the operator can manage permissions.
- 5.
Save and confirm
Select Save changes. On success, Antylogic confirms that the user was updated, clears the password field, refreshes user and role data, and treats the saved values as the new baseline.
- 6.
Respect scope limits
Use the Harbor Soho location flow as the primary documented path. Organisation-level editing only applies when an existing organisation-level internal user is already available, and deleting or removing location access is a separate action.
Validations and limits
- Name and User ID are required.
- A password is optional during editing, but if entered it must contain at least 6 characters.
- Save changes stays disabled until the form is valid, at least one value has changed and no avatar upload is in progress.
- User ID is trimmed and lowercased before it is saved.
- Email is trimmed and lowercased, must contain @ when present, and must not belong to another user.
- Device access hides email and phone and saves those values as blank.
- Role checkboxes appear only with permissions:manage, and the owner role is not selectable.
- Profile/internal-credential updates and role synchronisation are separate operations, so a later role failure can leave an earlier profile change saved.
Expected result
The internal account is updated for the Harbor Soho scope. The saved profile and access fields become the current form state, role data is refreshed, and the password remains unreadable to the operator.
