Create an optimisation configuration
Create a reusable optimisation profile for Harbor Soho or Harbor Demo Group with a name, optional description, default status and optimiser settings for later services, availability and reservation optimisation.
In this article
An optimisation configuration is a reusable capacity policy. It stores how Antylogic should treat service rules, buffers, objectives, splits, risk, saturation and alternatives when the profile is used later.
This guide focuses on the Harbor Soho location flow from Reservations, Optimiser. The same creation action is also available at organisation level for Harbor Demo Group. Creating the profile saves settings only; it does not run the optimiser, recalculate availability or change existing reservations.
Before you start
- Sign in to Antylogic with Harbor Demo Group selected.
- For a location-level profile, select Harbor Soho before opening Reservations, Optimiser.
- The user needs `optimization:manage` for the selected organisation or location. Users with `optimization:view` can load the list but cannot create a profile.
- The optimisation configuration list must load before the user starts a new configuration from the UI.
Instructions
- 1.
Choose the profile scope
Decide whether the profile belongs to Harbor Soho or to the whole Harbor Demo Group. Use the location flow for one restaurant and the organisation flow for a shared profile. The screen and route decide the saved scope.
- 2.
Open the Optimiser list
From Reservations, open the Optimiser tab. The list shows system, organisation and location configurations, and shows New configuration when the user has management access.
- 3.
Start a new configuration
Select New configuration. The form opens in create mode with an empty name, empty description, Default switched off and the standard optimisation settings already filled in.
- 4.
Enter the profile details
Add a clear name, such as Harbor Soho lunch optimiser. Add a description only when it helps other managers understand when to use the profile.
- 5.
Set default behaviour
Switch on Default only when this profile should become the main optimisation configuration for the selected scope. Leave it off for profiles being prepared for later use or comparison.
- 6.
Review the optimiser settings
Review Service, Buffers, Objective and solver, Splits, Risk, Saturation, Optional rules and Alternatives. For a basic Harbor Soho profile, the default settings can be left in place.
- 7.
Create the configuration
Select Create. On success, Antylogic confirms that the configuration was created, refreshes the optimisation configuration list and returns to the current scope's list view.
- 8.
Optional: create from a system template
When the form is opened from a template copy, review the prefilled settings, rename the profile and select Create. The system template is not edited; Antylogic creates a new non-system configuration.
Validations and limits
- A location-level profile requires a selected location. An organisation-level profile requires a selected organisation.
- The create action requires `optimization:manage`; view-only users cannot create from the UI or backend.
- Name is required after trimming spaces.
- Production storage enforces unique active configuration names within the same organisation or location.
- Description is optional and is trimmed before saving.
- The saved scope comes from the route context, not from fields in the form body.
- Only one active configuration can be default within the same organisation or location; saving a new default can clear the previous one.
- The settings payload is stored as JSON. The UI normalises visible fields, but the backend does not re-check every optimiser setting range beyond valid JSON, scope and name.
- Creating a profile does not execute optimisation, recalculate availability, edit services or change reservations.
Expected result
The optimisation profile is saved for the selected scope, the list refreshes, and the profile becomes available for later service, availability and reservation optimisation workflows.
