View The KDS Board

Open the Harbor Soho KDS board to monitor the active service's kitchen workload. The guide is read-only: it covers account columns, production filters and waiting-time cues without advancing item status.

In this article

Use this guide when a kitchen operator, service supervisor or front-of-house manager needs to read the live KDS board for Harbor Soho during the active service.

The board is scoped to the selected location's active `service_session`. It shows open tickets only when they contain kitchen-relevant items in `draft`, `sent`, `preparing` or `ready`.

Before you start

  • The operator is signed in with Harbor Demo Group / Harbor Soho selected.
  • Use `antylogic://${ORG_ID}/${LOCATION_ID}/kds?terminalId=${TPV_TERMINAL_ID}` for GB captures.
  • `tpv_settings.enable_kds` is enabled for Harbor Soho.
  • The operator has `kds:view`, `kds:use` or `kds:manage` at location level.
  • To show live content, Harbor Soho has an active `service_session` with open KDS-relevant ticket items.

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Open The KDS Board

Open KDS from the Harbor Soho context or use `antylogic://${ORG_ID}/${LOCATION_ID}/kds?terminalId=${TPV_TERMINAL_ID}`. Passing `terminalId` keeps terminal-scoped KDS output jobs aligned with the selected terminal.

  2. 2.

    Confirm The Active Service

Check that the header shows the active service, such as Soho lunch service. If no service is active, the screen shows the no-active-service state instead of historical tickets.

  3. 3.

    Read Stage Filters And Counters

Use the `draft`, `sent`, `preparing` and `ready` filters to focus the board. Counters summarise visible kitchen work; they are board indicators, not saved settings.

  4. 4.

    Review Account Columns

Each visible column is an open ticket with at least one KDS-relevant item. Read the account, table label, staff label and product rows to understand what the kitchen needs to prepare.

  5. 5.

    Prioritise Waiting-Time Cues

Use the waiting-time tones to decide what needs attention first: fresh under 6 minutes, warning from 6 minutes and urgent from 12 minutes.

  6. 6.

    Open Ticket Detail When Allowed

If the account header is selectable, open the TPV ticket detail from KDS. Operators with only KDS viewing rights can monitor the board but cannot open ticket detail from the header.

  7. 7.

    Keep Monitoring Separate From Operation

Do not swipe rows or advance production stages in this guide. Item operation belongs to `tpv.kds.advance-item` and requires `kds:use` or `kds:manage`.

Validations and limits

  • The KDS board does not render without selected organisation and location context.
  • The board is blocked if the operator lacks `kds:view`, `kds:use` and `kds:manage`.
  • The board is blocked when `tpv_settings.enable_kds` is false.
  • An expected active-service 404 is shown as no active service, not as a fatal load error.
  • Closed and void tickets are excluded from the board.
  • `served` and `cancelled` items are excluded from active board work.
  • At least one of `draft`, `sent`, `preparing` or `ready` remains selected in the filters.
  • KDS-only ticket access is restricted to the active service unless broader ticket, TPV or calendar permissions are present.

Expected result

The operator can monitor Harbor Soho's active kitchen workload by account, table, staff, product and production stage without changing any ticket item status.
