Update General POS Settings

Update Harbor Soho location-wide POS behaviour: product image display, quick mode, KDS availability, employee access mode and the active POS brand. Saving requires `tpv:manage` and updates the selected location `tpv_settings` record.

In this article

Use this guide when a location manager needs to change how Harbor Soho behaves at the POS before service. The General tab covers product image display, quick account mode and KDS availability; employee access and active POS brand are edited from their current related surfaces but save into the same settings record.

These settings are scoped to the selected location. This action does not create tickets, payment methods, output devices, virtual brands or staff credentials, and it should not be used to document terminal quick-payment or default-output preferences.

Before you start

  • You are signed in to Harbor Demo Group with Harbor Soho selected.
  • You can open the location POS settings area.
  • Your role has `tpv:manage` for Harbor Soho to save changes; view-only users can review the screen but cannot save.
  • A Harbor Soho virtual brand exists before changing the active POS brand.

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Open the General tab

Go to `/:orgId/:locationId/location/tpv?tab=general` for Harbor Soho and review the Behaviour section. If no saved row exists yet, Antylogic loads the default POS behaviour for the location.

  2. 2.

    Adjust behaviour settings

Change only the behaviour option you intend to update. Product images affect the POS catalogue layout, quick mode controls quick account operation, and KDS enablement controls whether kitchen display behaviour is available for the location.

  3. 3.

Set employee access mode if needed

Open `/:orgId/:locationId/location/tpv?tab=staff-credentials` when the change is how staff identify themselves in POS workflows. Choose selector, PIN, card or disabled; staff PIN and card credential records are managed separately.

  4. 4.

Set the active POS brand if needed

Open `/:orgId/:locationId/location/brands` to choose the location virtual brand used as the active POS brand. The selected brand reference is stored on the same TPV settings record.

  5. 5.

    Save the settings

Select Save changes. Antylogic sends the full TPV settings snapshot to `PUT /api/app/{orgId}/{locationId}/tpv-settings`, validates it, reloads the saved response and clears the changed-state footer.

Validations and limits

  • The screen must be scoped to Harbor Soho; the settings query only loads when both `orgId` and `locationId` are present.
  • Save changes is available only with `tpv:manage`; users with view access can review but not save.
  • `employee_access_mode` must be `selector`, `pin`, `card` or `disabled`; an empty value falls back to `selector`.
  • If KDS is disabled while a selected kitchen output is a KDS device, the app clears that KDS device reference before saving.
  • The shared save payload may include billing and terminal preference structures, but this guide documents only visible general behaviour, employee access and active brand settings.
  • Do not document quick payment buttons or default output selectors as General tab fields; current routing uses terminal-scoped preference tables on sibling settings surfaces.
  • Use `/location/brands` for active POS brand assignment; `/location/tpv?tab=brands` redirects there.
  • Do not claim server-side `brand_id` ownership validation unless that validation is added or separately verified.

Expected result

Harbor Soho has updated location-scoped POS behaviour in `tpv_settings`, and the screen returns to the saved state without creating operational records such as tickets, devices, payment methods, credentials or brands.
