Assign tables to a POS ticket
Change the main table and the full set of tables assigned to an existing POS ticket during an active Harbor Soho service.
In this article
Use this when a Harbor Soho ticket needs to move to a different table set during Soho lunch service without changing the order, totals, payments or invoice state.
The assignment is saved as a complete replacement. Antylogic keeps the first selected table as the main table and stores the full selection as the ticket table assignment set.
Before you start
- You are signed in to Harbor Demo Group and working in Harbor Soho.
- The POS has an active service session, such as Soho lunch service.
- The POS ticket exists in the active service and is not void or closed.
- A floor layout is loaded for the active service, or the location has a default layout, so tables can be selected.
- Your user can use the POS for this active service ticket, or has ticket management access.
Instructions
- 1.
Open the ticket
Open the POS on the Tables tab and select the ticket, or open the ticket detail screen directly. Check that the ticket belongs to the active Harbor Soho service and that the current table labels match the service state.
- 2.
Open Assign tables
From the ticket actions or customisation menu, choose Assign tables. The selector opens over the floor plan with the ticket's current tables already selected.
- 3.
Choose the final table set
Select one or more available tables in the plan. Tables used by another active ticket, or reserved for another active reservation, are shown as unavailable and cannot be selected from the UI.
- 4.
Save the assignment
Press Save tables. Antylogic saves the selected tables on the ticket, keeps the first selected table as the main table, and replaces the previous table assignment rows with the new set.
- 5.
Verify the result
After saving, the selector closes and the ticket or floor plan refreshes. Confirm that the ticket shows the new table labels and that the floor occupancy reflects the updated assignment.
- 6.
Release all tables
To leave the ticket without assigned tables, open Assign tables, press Release, then press Save tables. Closing the selector without saving discards the pending change.
Validations and limits
- The UI does not offer this action for void or closed tickets.
- Saving replaces the full table set; it is not a partial add-only or remove-only operation.
- Only tables from the loaded layout can be selected.
- The ticket's current tables remain selectable, even when they are already occupied by that same ticket.
- Duplicate or blank table IDs are ignored when the assignment is saved.
- A capacity warning can appear when the selected tables do not cover the party size; the reviewed implementation treats it as informational rather than a save blocker.
- With POS-use access, the ticket must belong to the active service session. Tickets from another service require ticket management access.
- If the update fails, the editor stays open and the user sees an error instead of a successful close.
Expected result
The ticket keeps its items, totals, payments and invoice state, but its main table and full table assignment set are refreshed. The ticket detail and service floor then show the updated table labels.
