List and search catalogs
View active catalogs for the selected organisation or location, filter the loaded list by catalog name, move through table pages, and open an existing catalog such as Soho Menu for Harbor Soho.
In this article
The Catalogs tab is the working list for reviewing active catalogs in an organisation or location context. In a location view, the table can include both organisation-owned and location-owned catalogs, with Owner clarifying the scope.
Search and pagination happen in the app after the context list loads. The backend list endpoint returns the active catalogs for the selected context and does not receive the search text or page number.
Before you start
- You are signed in with an organisation selected, such as Harbor Demo Group.
- For the location view, a location is selected, such as Harbor Soho.
- Your role includes catalog read access for the relevant scope; the backend list request requires catalog:view.
- The page is opened in LocationCatalogs or OrganizationCatalogs. Missing or invalid tab values return to the Catalogs tab.
Instructions
- 1.
Open Catalogs
Open the Catalogs area for the selected organisation or location and stay on the Catalogs tab. Confirm the table shows Name, Status and Owner; if read access is missing, the no-access message replaces the table.
- 2.
Search by name
Use Search by name to filter the catalogs already loaded for the current context. The search is case-insensitive, checks catalog name only, resets catalogs_page to 1 when changed, and removes catalogs_query when cleared.
- 3.
Read the row
Use Name, Status and Owner to identify the catalog before opening it. Status shows Default only for the default catalog, while Owner identifies the selected organisation, the selected location, or System as a fallback.
- 4.
Move through pages
Use the table pagination controls when more filtered rows exist than fit on the current page. Missing, non-numeric or below-1 catalogs_page values fall back to page 1, and out-of-range pages clamp to the last available page.
- 5.
Open a catalog
Select a row or use View to open the catalog detail flow. Read-only users can still view rows, while Create Catalog, Copy, Edit and Delete depend on management access for the catalog owner's scope.
Validations and limits
- Location routes use /location/catalogs?tab=catalogs and require both selectedOrgId and selectedLocationId.
- Organisation routes use /organization/catalogs?tab=catalogs and list organisation-level catalogs only.
- The API routes are GET /api/app/{orgId}/catalogs and GET /api/app/{orgId}/{locationId}/catalogs.
- Deleted catalogs are excluded from the active list, and PostgreSQL ordering is by name ascending.
- Search filters only by catalog name; it does not search Owner, Status, id, product_ids or product_type_ids.
Expected result
The user can find Soho Menu or another active catalog, understand who owns it, and open it without implying backend search or backend pagination.
