Approve an attendance correction
Approve a pending attendance correction when the displayed entry time, exit time, or both should be accepted for an existing staff shift. Antylogic updates the current staff shift, refreshes the corrections list, and notifies the affected staff member.
In this article
Use this guide when a location manager or shift supervisor needs to accept a staff attendance correction exactly as shown, without editing the shift times.
In the GB demo runtime, use Harbor Demo Group > Harbor Soho and open `attendance/corrections?pending_only=true` to review pending corrections first.
Before you start
- You are signed in with an organisation and location selected.
- The selected location has at least one pending staff shift correction.
- Your role can manage staff shifts for the selected location.
- The corrections screen is opened with a valid date range; by default it uses the current year and can show pending corrections only.
Instructions
- 1.
Open Pending Corrections
Open `attendance/corrections?pending_only=true` for Harbor Soho. The page lists staff shift events with pending correction status.
- 2.
Review the Row
Find a row marked Pending and check the employee, entry time, exit time, status, and hours. Use Approve only when the displayed correction should be accepted without changing the time.
- 3.
Confirm Approval
Select Approve on the pending row. The Approve correction modal confirms the selected correction before the staff shift is updated.
- 4.
Save the Correction
Confirm the modal. Antylogic updates the existing staff shift event and changes the pending entry status, exit status, or both from `correction_requested` to `correction_made`.
- 5.
Check the Result
After the save succeeds, the page shows Correction updated and refreshes the list. Open `attendance/corrections?pending_only=false` to review the resolved row as Corrected.
Validations and limits
- The corrections table is available only to users with staff shift management permission.
- Approve is enabled only for rows with a pending correction and is disabled while the update is saving.
- Cancel closes the confirmation modal without updating the staff shift.
- Approval updates the existing `staff_shift` calendar event; it does not create a new event.
- If saving fails, the correction remains pending and the page shows the save error.
Expected result
The pending attendance correction is accepted as displayed, the staff shift event is marked corrected, the corrections list refreshes, and the affected staff member receives a correction decision notification.
