How to create a quick sale
Use Quick account in the TPV to build a small walk-up sale from the catalogue, charge it with one quick payment method, and continue from ticket detail if payment or automatic closing needs review.
In this article
Quick sale is designed for counter orders where the operator does not need a table, reservation, item notes, split payment, invoice or discount flow before charging.
In the Harbor Soho demo, Olivia Hart can add catalogue items such as Fish and chips and Sticky toffee pudding, charge with the configured quick method, and print the last quick ticket when printing permission is available.
Before you start
- You are signed in to Harbor Demo Group and working in Harbor Soho.
- The Harbor Soho TPV has an active service session, such as Soho lunch service.
- Quick mode is enabled in TPV settings and at least one active TPV payment method is available.
- At least one product is visible in the active service catalogue or the default catalogue.
- If employee access is required, select a staff member such as Olivia Hart before charging.
- For cash-type quick methods, the terminal has an open cash register session.
Instructions
- 1.
Open Quick Account
Open the TPV at Harbor Soho and select the Quick account tab. The screen shows the catalogue, product filters, search, the current draft and up to two quick charge buttons.
- 2.
Select The Operator
If the TPV requires employee selection, choose Olivia Hart or another authorised operator before charging. The draft is kept separately for the selected employee.
- 3.
Add Catalogue Items
Search or filter the catalogue, then tap the products the customer wants. Tapping the same product again increases its quantity; new products are added with price, tax, product type, colour and display name.
- 4.
Check The Draft Total
Review item quantities and the total before charging. This quick screen does not assign a table, link a reservation, edit item notes, split payment, invoice or apply discounts.
- 5.
Charge With A Quick Method
Press the configured quick charge button. The app creates a fast ticket, adds each draft item as served, records one completed payment for the full amount and then attempts to close the ticket automatically.
- 6.
Handle The Result
If the visible flow completes, the draft is cleared and the last quick ticket can be printed when the user has printing permission. If a later step fails after ticket creation, continue from the created ticket detail.
Validations and limits
- If quick mode is disabled, the app returns to the TPV summary view and does not show Quick account.
- If there is no active service session, no selected required employee, or an empty draft, checkout is blocked before a ticket is created.
- The ticket is created with source kind fast, party size 1 and no table or reservation.
- Items created from Quick account are marked served and become paid only after a completed payment covers the total.
- Cash-type methods need an open cash register session for the selected terminal; otherwise payment can fail after the ticket and items already exist.
- Current fast mode attempts to close through PUT /tickets/{ticketId} with status closed, while the implemented close action is POST /tickets/{ticketId}/close. Treat the ticket as paid plus attempted close unless that integration is corrected or verified.
Expected result
A quick sale creates a fast TPV ticket with served items and a single payment. When payment succeeds the ticket becomes paid; if payment or closing cannot fully finish, the operator should review the created ticket from the ticket detail screen.
