How to delete a TPV terminal

Remove a saved TPV terminal from the current location while keeping linked operational records available with their terminal reference cleared.

In this article

Use this guide when a saved TPV terminal should be removed from a location such as Harbor Soho. The delete is permanent for the terminal record and is scoped to the current location.

Deleting the terminal does not delete payment methods, output devices, cash sessions, ticket payments, output jobs or payment operations. Antylogic clears direct terminal links before removing the terminal record.

Before you start

  • Work in the organisation and location that owns the terminal, for example Harbor Demo Group > Harbor Soho.
  • Your user has `tpv:manage` permission for the location.
  • The target is a saved terminal stored in `tpv_terminals`, not a derived user-device terminal shown by another view.
  • For demo or documentation runs, create a temporary terminal first and do not delete the seeded `TPV_TERMINAL_ID`.

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Confirm the location context

Open the location that owns the terminal before deleting it. A terminal from another location is treated as not found and cannot be deleted from the current location.

  2. 2.

    Choose a saved terminal

Identify the persisted TPV terminal record that should be removed. Empty ids, missing terminals and derived user-device terminal views are not valid deletion targets.

  3. 3.

    Run the delete action

Delete the selected terminal. A successful delete removes the `tpv_terminals` record and completes without a response body; it is not a deactivation or soft delete.

  4. 4.

    Review related configuration

Check payment methods, output devices and active TPV records that previously referenced the terminal. Those records remain available, but their direct terminal assignment is cleared where applicable.

  5. 5.

    Verify the terminal is gone

Try to open or select the deleted terminal from the same location. The removed terminal should no longer be available in Harbor Soho.

Validations and limits

  • The user must have `tpv:manage`; `tpv:view`, `tpv:use` and KDS permissions do not authorise deletion.
  • The request is location-scoped and supports one terminal id at a time.
  • The delete action uses `DELETE /api/app/{orgId}/{locationId}/tpv-terminals/{id}` and requires no form body.
  • A successful delete returns `204 NoContent`.
  • The terminal must exist in `tpv_terminals` and belong to the current location.
  • Antylogic clears direct terminal references instead of blocking deletion when related records exist.

Expected result

The saved TPV terminal is permanently removed from the current location, while directly linked TPV records remain in place with their terminal reference cleared where applicable.
