Filter KDS Statuses

Focus the Harbor Soho KDS board on selected production statuses so kitchen operators see only the products they need right now, without changing tickets, item statuses, or saved data.

In this article

The KDS status filter is a temporary view control for the live kitchen board. It helps the Harbor Soho team switch between Requested, Sent, In preparation, and Ready work while the underlying tickets remain unchanged.

The inspected en-GB screen currently uses fallback labels in Spanish: Solicitados, Enviados, En preparación, and Listos. Treat those labels as the visible UI text until English KDS translations are added.

Before you start

  • Harbor Demo Group and the Harbor Soho location are selected.
  • KDS is enabled for Harbor Soho in TPV settings.
  • The operator has at least one KDS location permission: kds:view, kds:use, or kds:manage.
  • There is an active Soho lunch service with open tickets that include kitchen items in draft, sent, preparing, or ready.

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Open the KDS board

Open /:orgId/:locationId/kds or the matching antylogic:// deep link. The board loads the active service session and the open tickets with kitchen-relevant products.

  2. 2.

    Review the status filters

Use the four controls in the KDS header. They represent draft, sent, preparing, and ready; the current fallback labels are Solicitados, Enviados, En preparación, and Listos.

  3. 3.

    Select the statuses to focus

Tap one or more controls to narrow the visible product rows. For example, leave only In preparation active to focus the board on products currently being prepared.

  4. 4.

    Keep one status active

The filter cannot be cleared completely. If the operator tries to turn off the last selected status, the board keeps the previous selection.

  5. 5.

    Read the filtered board

Open accounts stay grouped when they still have KDS-relevant products, but each account only shows products whose production status matches the active filters.

  6. 6.

    Return to the full view

Select all four controls again to restore the default working view. When the board first opens, draft, sent, preparing, and ready are all active.

Validations and limits

  • Only draft, sent, preparing, and ready are filterable on the KDS board.
  • Served and cancelled items are excluded from the KDS board and are not shown as filter choices.
  • Filter counters are calculated from all KDS-relevant open items before the active filter is applied.
  • Changing the filter updates the board immediately and does not send a backend payload.
  • The filter is local to the KDS page; it is not persisted in the URL, backend, or local storage.
  • Filtering is allowed with kds:view; kds:use or kds:manage is only needed for operating items.
  • If an account has KDS-relevant products but none match the active filter, the account can remain visible with the account-level empty message.

Expected result

The kitchen operator sees a focused KDS board for the selected production statuses while ticket items, production statuses, and service data remain unchanged.
