How to select catalogue products

Choose which existing products belong to a catalogue, review the product type order that follows from that selection, and save the full catalogue composition together.

In this article

Catalogue product selection is where a manager decides what Soho Menu, or any other editable catalogue, actually contains. The Products table uses existing products from the current scope, so the catalogue is assembled from approved items rather than by creating new products inside the catalogue form.

Changes are staged until Save is pressed. When the catalogue is saved, Antylogic stores the selected products in order and keeps the product type order aligned with the types represented by those selected products.

Before you start

  • Work inside Harbor Demo Group. For a location catalogue, Harbor Soho or another location context must also be active.
  • The user needs `catalog:view` or `catalog:manage` to open the catalogue, and `catalog:manage` to save product selection changes.
  • The catalogue must already exist, belong to the editable scope, and not be deleted or a system catalogue.
  • Products, product types, tax categories, allergens and specifications must be loaded for the same scope so the Products table and filters can be built.
  • The catalogue Name field must remain filled in; Antylogic will not save a product-only change while the overall catalogue form is invalid.

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Open the editable catalogue

From Catalogues, open the catalogue to maintain, such as Soho Menu in Harbor Soho. The shared catalogue editor is used for both location and organisation catalogues.

  2. 2.

Find products in the Products table

Scroll to Products. Existing catalogue products are checked, and the selected-products badge shows the current count. Use Search by name, for example Fish, to narrow the loaded products.

  3. 3.

    Apply filters when needed

Open the table filters to narrow rows by product type, tax type, allergens, specifications, minimum price or maximum price before selecting products.

  4. 4.

    Select and deselect products

Tick products to include them in the catalogue and untick products to remove them. Header selection applies to all products matching the current filters, not only the rows visible on the current page.

  5. 5.

    Review the product type order

After product selection changes, review the product type order section. It keeps the existing valid order where possible and adds newly represented types after the current order.

  6. 6.

    Save the catalogue

Press Save to persist the catalogue name, default flag where applicable, image, selected products and derived product type order. On success, Antylogic returns to Catalogues and shows the success notification.

Validations and limits

  • Selection controls are hidden when the screen is read-only, historical, deleted or outside the user's writable scope.
  • Location catalogues can only include products from that location scope; organisation catalogues can only include organisation products.
  • Filtering only changes which rows are visible. It does not save, remove or clear selected products by itself.
  • Filter values that no longer exist in the loaded options are removed from the route parameters and the Products page resets to page 1.
  • Selected product IDs are normalised by removing empty values and duplicates before saving.
  • The backend rejects product IDs or product type IDs that do not exist or do not belong to the same scope as the catalogue.
  • Organisation catalogues cannot save the location-only default catalogue flag.
  • There is no dedicated select-products endpoint; the selection is saved through the full catalogue POST or PUT.

Expected result

The catalogue stores the selected product IDs and the product type order derived from those products, so the menu content and its type ordering stay consistent for the current scope.
