Clear The Local Docs Assistant
Use Clear in the public Ask in Docs panel to reset only the browser-local assistant session. The action cancels any current assistant work and removes the visible question, local answer, error, sources, and download progress without leaving the Docs page.
In this article
Use this guide when a visitor or support operator needs to reset the public Docs assistant without changing the article they are reading. The reset is local to the browser panel, so the Docs route and article content stay in place.
Clear is not a Docs content update and it does not call a backend clear endpoint. Normal answer and source states depend on browser support for the local LanguageModel API.
Before you start
- The visitor is on a public Docs route such as /docs, /manual, /wiki, or /docs/access/en-access-users-create-location-internal?lang=en for the GB English capture.
- The public Docs index has loaded at least one article, so the Ask in Docs assistant is available.
- The floating Ask in Docs panel is open.
- Clear is visible because the assistant currently has a question, a local answer, or an error message.
- To capture a normal Local answer and Articles used list, the browser runtime supports globalThis.LanguageModel for English.
- No Antylogic login, organisation, location, or demo-session permission is required.
Instructions
- 1.
Open the public Docs article
Open the public Docs page and wait until the article content and the floating Ask in Docs button are visible. For the GB English capture, use /docs/access/en-access-users-create-location-internal?lang=en.
- 2.
Open Ask in Docs
Select the floating Ask in Docs button. The panel opens over the same article and shows the local AI availability message, the question field, and the Ask action.
- 3.
Reach a clearable state
Enter a question, or use an existing answer or error in the panel. In a supported browser, submit the question and wait for Local answer and Articles used before clearing.
- 4.
Select Clear
Select Clear. The assistant cancels current work, returns to an idle session, and removes the visible question, local answer, warning message, source links, and download progress.
- 5.
Continue on the same Docs page
Keep reading or ask a new question from the same open panel. Clearing the assistant does not navigate away or reset Docs page controls.
Validations and limits
- The Clear control appears only when the assistant has a question, answer, or error message.
- The panel stays open after Clear.
- The Clear control disappears after the session fields are empty.
- The route, selected article, locale, platform, theme, search state, and loaded Docs index remain unchanged.
- No POST, DELETE, or backend clear request is sent.
- Interrupted assistant results or errors should not reappear after Clear.
- The local AI availability message may remain because Clear does not reset availability.
Expected result
The public Docs assistant is idle in the same open panel. The question, answer, error, sources, response state, and download progress have been cleared locally, while the public Docs page and loaded documentation remain unchanged.
