Copy a Floor Plan

Create a new floor plan for the current location by using an existing active layout as the template. The copy keeps the visual structure, zones, tables, table types and combinations, but saves them as a new floor plan for Harbor Soho.

In this article

Copying a floor plan helps a manager reuse a proven room setup without rebuilding zones, tables, table types or combinations from scratch.

Antylogic loads the source floor plan, prepares a new editable draft and saves the result through the normal create-floor-plan flow. The source floor plan is not changed.

Before you start

  • You are signed in to Harbor Demo Group and working in Harbor Soho.
  • Your role has layout:view to open the Layouts list and load the source floor plan.
  • Your role has layout:manage to see Copy and save the new floor plan.
  • An active source floor plan exists in Harbor Soho. The en-GB capture runtime uses SETUP_LAYOUT_SOURCE_LAYOUT_ID=22b0d515-c00c-4a37-850f-d39130b29321.
  • For the documented capture, use SETUP_LAYOUT_COPY_LAYOUT_NAME=Manual docs copy and make sure that name is not already used in Harbor Soho before saving.

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Open Layouts

Open the Layouts screen for Harbor Soho. The list shows active floor plans for the selected location and the row actions available to your role.

  2. 2.

    Start the copy

On the source floor plan row, choose Copy. Antylogic opens the visual editor in new-floor-plan mode, using the selected floor plan as the template.

  3. 3.

    Review the copied floor plan

Check that the editor opens with the expected name, such as Manual docs copy. The copied draft includes the source structure, zones, tables, table types and combinations. Default starts off, but can be changed before saving if needed.

  4. 4.

    Make any needed changes

Adjust only what needs to differ from the source: rename the floor plan, change Default, move elements, edit zones, edit table types, edit tables or update combinations.

  5. 5.

    Save the copy

Choose Save. Antylogic creates a new floor plan in Harbor Soho, closes the editor and returns to the Layouts list with the new copy visible.

Validations and limits

  • Copy is only shown when the user has layout:manage.
  • The source floor plan must be active, readable and part of the current location.
  • The copied floor plan must have a name before it can be saved.
  • The name must be unique in Harbor Soho. Manual docs copy can fail if a previous capture run already created it.
  • The copied floor plan must contain at least one zone and one table.
  • Zone, table and table type names must be complete and unique within the new floor plan.
  • Table capacity must be valid: either 0 and 0 for an auxiliary table, or positive minimum and maximum capacity with minimum not greater than maximum.
  • Each table must belong to a zone, and any table type used by a table must exist in the copied floor plan.
  • Combinations must belong to one zone, use tables from that same zone and have valid positive capacity.
  • On web, the visual editor canvas must load correctly before the copy can be reviewed and saved.

Expected result

A new floor plan is created for Harbor Soho with new child records for zones, tables, table types and combinations. The original floor plan remains unchanged.
