Edit a Floor Plan

Update an existing floor plan for Harbor Soho by reviewing the visual editor, changing the plan details, zones, tables, table types and table combinations, then saving the full layout back to the location.

In this article

A floor plan is the operational model used by bookings, table assignment and the TPV floor view. Editing it changes the active seating model for the location, so the plan should be checked as a whole before saving.

Use this guide when a location manager needs to adjust an existing Harbor Soho plan without creating a copy. Antylogic saves the layout as one complete aggregate: plan details, table types, zones, tables and combinations are reviewed and persisted together.

Before you start

  • An active organisation and location context is selected, for example Harbor Demo Group and Harbor Soho.
  • The floor plan already exists and belongs to the current location. In the GB demo runtime, use `SETUP_LAYOUT_SOURCE_LAYOUT_ID` for Harbor Soho.
  • The user needs `layout:view` to load the list and floor plan detail, and `layout:manage` to open normal edit controls and save changes.
  • The plan must keep at least one zone and one table before it can be saved.
  • On web, the visual editor must initialise successfully before visual editing is available.

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Open the floor plan editor

Open Floor plans for the current location and choose Edit on the plan row. The app opens `/:orgId/:locationId/location/layouts?layout_id=:layoutId` and loads the selected floor plan into the visual editor.

  2. 2.

    Check the loaded plan

Confirm the editor shows the expected Harbor Soho canvas, zones, tables and side panel controls before changing capacity or table positions.

  3. 3.

    Update plan information

Use the information controls to update the floor plan name and Default setting. Mark the plan as default only when it should become the main active plan for the location.

  4. 4.

    Edit zones, tables and types

Select zones and tables on the canvas or in the side panel to adjust names, position, size, shape, capacity and table type. Use table types to keep visual and operational categories consistent across the plan.

  5. 5.

    Review table combinations

Check combinations after moving, removing or changing tables. A valid combination groups more than one table from the same zone and uses a positive capacity range.

  6. 6.

    Save and confirm

Select Save. When the update succeeds, Antylogic shows the floor plan updated confirmation, refreshes list and detail data, and returns to the Floor plans list.

Validations and limits

  • Edit and Save are available only to users with `layout:manage`; users with view access can load the detail but cannot save normal edits.
  • The UI requires a floor plan name, and floor plan names must be unique within the location.
  • Only one active floor plan can be default for a location, and Antylogic keeps at least one active default plan.
  • The plan must contain at least one zone and at least one table, and each saved zone must contain at least one table.
  • Zone and table names should be non-empty and unique in the editor.
  • A table can be auxiliary with `min_capacity` and `max_capacity` as `0`, or it must use positive capacities where minimum is not greater than maximum.
  • If a table uses a table type, that type must exist in the same floor plan payload, and table type names must be present and unique without case sensitivity.
  • Saving replaces table types, zones, tables and combinations as a complete set rather than applying separate child-item patches.
  • If the previous plan was used by past services, Antylogic can preserve a historical snapshot before completing the update.

Expected result

The active Harbor Soho floor plan is updated for future operations, while historical services can keep the earlier floor-plan state when a snapshot is needed.
