Open Floor Plan Editor
Open Harbor Soho's visual floor plan editor from the layouts list to inspect an existing plan, start a blank plan, or prepare a copied draft before saving.
In this article
Use this guide when a floor operator, location manager, or configuration administrator needs to enter the floor plan editor without committing changes.
Opening the editor loads route state and layout data for the selected Harbor Soho plan. Creating or updating the plan only happens later when a manager saves.
Before you start
- You are signed in to Harbor Demo Group and working in Harbor Soho.
- You have `layout:view` or `layout:manage` to open and inspect floor plans.
- You have `layout:manage` to create, copy, edit, or save floor plans.
- Harbor Soho has a valid source `layout_id` when opening or copying an existing floor plan.
Instructions
- 1.
Open the layouts list
Go to the layouts area for Harbor Soho. The list shows the location's available floor plans and is the starting point for opening the editor.
- 2.
Open an existing floor plan
Select a floor plan row from the list, or use the row edit action when available. The list is replaced by the visual editor with the plan's zones, tables, table types, and table combinations.
- 3.
Review the editor mode
Inspect the canvas and side panel. Managers see editing controls, the default-plan control, and Save; view-only users can open an existing plan for consultation with editing and save controls hidden or disabled.
- 4.
Start a new floor plan
Use the new floor plan action to open an empty editor. The route uses `layout_id=new`, so the app treats the state as a new local plan and does not load a detail record.
- 5.
Open a copied draft
Use the copy action on an existing Harbor Soho floor plan to open a new unsaved editor state based on the source plan. The copied draft remaps local layout components and is not marked as the default plan automatically.
- 6.
Close the editor
Close the editor to return to the layouts list. In the normal layouts workflow, closing clears the editor route parameters and shows the table again.
Validations and limits
- Without `layout:view` or `layout:manage`, the layouts screen is not accessible.
- The selected `layout_id` must be a non-empty string, belong to Harbor Soho, and not be deleted.
- Opening the editor does not save any changes; only the save workflows create or update a floor plan.
- When copying, `layout_copy_from_id` must identify the source floor plan and the draft remains local until saved.
- If the detail load fails, the editor shows the configured load error state.
Expected result
The operator or manager lands in the visual floor plan editor for an existing plan, a blank new plan, or a copied draft, with no persistence performed until Save.
