How to edit a tax category
Update an existing tax category from the Tax categories tab. The operator can change name, percentage, description and country while the category stays in its current owner scope.
In this article
Tax categories define the fiscal percentage used by products that reference them. Editing a category changes that shared fiscal definition; it does not move products to a different category.
The same flow applies from the location and organisation catalogue areas. System-owned categories and view-only access stay read-only, and an organisation-owned category opened from Harbor Soho is still saved through the organisation scope.
Before you start
- The operator is signed in with Harbor Demo Group selected.
- For the location path, Harbor Soho is selected as the active location.
- An editable, non-system tax category exists and can be opened from the Tax categories tab.
- The operator has `catalog:manage` for the category owner scope. `catalog:view` allows inspection only.
Instructions
- 1.
Open Tax categories
Open the Tax categories tab in the catalogue management area for Harbor Soho or Harbor Demo Group. Use the list to check the category name, percentage, country and owner before editing.
- 2.
Open the detail form
Select an editable row, or its Edit action, to open the Tax type detail form. Rows owned by the system can be viewed, but not edited.
- 3.
Change the values
Update Name, Percentage, Description or Country. In the current en-GB runtime, the form field labels render as Nombre, Porcentaje, Descripción and País. Save becomes available only after a real change is made and the form is valid.
- 4.
Save the update
Press Save. Antylogic trims text fields, converts the percentage to a number, keeps the category in its existing owner scope and returns to the Tax categories tab after the update succeeds.
Validations and limits
- Name is required.
- Percentage is required and must be a decimal value; comma or point decimal separators are accepted before sending.
- Antylogic rejects percentages below 0 or above 100.
- Country is required in the app form and is saved as an uppercase supported country code.
- Description is optional; an empty description is saved as no description.
- Before updating an editable category, Antylogic freezes catalogue snapshots for the same scope so past or versioned services keep their historical catalogue data.
Expected result
The tax category is updated in its existing scope. Products keep referencing the same tax category id, while future catalogue use sees the edited fiscal definition.
