Configure Table Groupings
Define groups of same-zone tables inside a floor plan so Harbor Soho can treat joined tables as one bookable seating option with its own minimum and maximum capacity range.
In this article
Table groupings let a location treat adjacent tables in one zone as a single bookable seating option. They are useful when two or more tables are normally separate but can be joined for a larger party.
Operators manage groupings in the floor-plan editor, not in a separate setup screen. Review, create, edit, or remove the grouping locally, then save the whole layout to persist the change.
In current GB demo captures, some editor labels may appear in Spanish, including `Agrupaciones` for Groupings and `Crear combinación` for Create combination.
Before you start
- You are signed in to Antylogic with Harbor Soho, or another location with floor plans configured.
- You have `layout:view` to open the layout list and editor.
- You have `layout:manage` to create, edit, delete, and save table groupings.
- The floor plan has at least one zone and at least two selectable tables in the same zone.
- For documentation captures, use a copied layout when creating, saving, or deleting groupings so the seeded Harbor Soho layout remains unchanged.
Instructions
- 1.
Open the floor plan
Open `location/layouts?layout_id={layoutId}` for the location. The editor loads the layout zones, tables, table types, and any saved table groupings.
- 2.
Review groupings
Open the Groupings side tab, shown as `Agrupaciones` in current captures. Each row is labelled from the table names joined with `+`, such as `B1 + B2`, and shows the grouping's minimum and maximum capacity.
- 3.
Start a new grouping
Use Select tables for combination. The editor enters table-combination selection mode, clears the previous selection, opens the Selection tab, and lets you choose at least two tables from the same zone.
- 4.
Set capacity and create
Check the selected table badges and capacity fields. The editor suggests a range by adding the selected tables' own capacities; adjust Min. and Max. if needed, then choose Create combination. If the exact table set already exists, the editor selects that grouping instead of creating a duplicate.
- 5.
Edit or remove a grouping
From Groupings, select a row or use Edit to adjust the capacity range. To change which tables belong to the grouping, delete it and create a new one. Delete opens a confirmation before removing the grouping from the local editor state.
- 6.
Save the layout
Choose Save to persist the full layout. Antylogic saves groupings inside `LayoutPayload.combinations`; closing or cancelling the editor before Save discards unsaved grouping changes.
Validations and limits
- The editor disables Create combination until at least two tables are selected.
- Selected tables must belong to the same zone.
- Min. and Max. must be positive whole numbers from 1 to 1000, with Min. less than or equal to Max.
- A grouping has no separate name, priority, or notes field; the visible label is the table names joined with `+`.
- Editing from the UI changes only `min_capacity` and `max_capacity`, not table membership.
- Saving still validates the whole layout: required name on creation, at least one zone, at least one table, unique zone and table names, valid table capacities, and valid table type references where used.
- Backend validation requires a grouping zone, at least one table, positive capacities, Min. less than or equal to Max., and tables that belong to that same zone.
- There is no groupings-only API or save action; groupings persist through `POST` or `PUT` on the layout.
Expected result
The floor plan is saved with same-zone table groupings that carry their own capacity range, so reservation and table-assignment flows can treat joined tables as bookable seating options.
