Select and compare reporting periods
Use the period filter on a Harbor Soho report to compare one or more date ranges and keep the same comparison while moving between reporting pages.
In this article
Reporting periods let a location manager review Harbor Soho performance across selected date ranges without changing saved business data. The selected ranges live in the report route as `periods` and reload the dashboard through the reports query.
Use this guide when you need to compare Reservations, Billing, Products, or Worked hours reports and keep the same date context while moving between reporting pages.
Before you start
- You are signed in to Antylogic.
- Harbor Demo Group and the Harbor Soho location are selected.
- You have reporting access for the location, either through `reports:view` or one of the related location permissions accepted by reporting.
- You are on a location reporting page such as Reservations, Billing, Products, or Worked hours.
Instructions
- 1.
Open a reporting page
Open a Harbor Soho reporting page, such as Reservations performance. If the route does not include `periods`, the app shows the current Monday-to-Sunday week and syncs that range into the route.
- 2.
Review the active periods
In the filters area, check the period cards. Each range is labelled as Period 1, Period 2, and so on, with a short label such as P1 and a colour used in report legends.
- 3.
Change a date range
Open the date range picker for a period, choose a complete start and end date, and apply it. The route updates in `YYYY-MM-DD_YYYY-MM-DD` format and the dashboard reloads.
- 4.
Add a comparison period
Use Add period to create another range immediately before the first current period, with the same duration. The report recalculates so the selected ranges can be compared.
- 5.
Remove an extra period
When more than one period is visible, remove the range that should no longer be part of the comparison. The final remaining period stays in place so the report always has at least one range.
- 6.
Switch reports with the same comparison
Move to another reporting page such as Billing or Products. Reporting links preserve the same `periods` query value, so the destination page reloads its own blocks with the same selected ranges.
Validations and limits
- Multiple periods are encoded as `YYYY-MM-DD_YYYY-MM-DD~YYYY-MM-DD_YYYY-MM-DD`.
- Incomplete date selections are ignored until both start and end dates are present.
- If the end date is earlier than the start date, the range is normalised so the end is not before the start.
- Periods are interpreted in the selected location timezone. For Harbor Soho, that is Europe/London.
- Changing `periods` only changes the report filter. It does not save a preference or modify reservations, tickets, payments, staff records, or catalogue data.
- The final visible period cannot be removed from the interface.
- There is no implemented maximum period count, overlap rule, future-date restriction, or monthly/yearly period rule.
- The frontend default is the current Monday-to-Sunday week, while the backend fallback for zero valid periods is two nine-day ranges.
Expected result
The report reloads with the selected periods, shows comparable period labels and colours, and keeps the same comparison when the operator opens another registered reporting page.
