Update a TPV product note

Add or change the free-text note on a product line in an open TPV ticket, so service or kitchen instructions stay attached to the right item.

In this article

Use product notes for item-specific instructions while the line is still editable, such as `No onion - serve sauce on the side` for Fish and chips or Beef pie in the Harbor Soho demo.

The note belongs to the product line, not the whole ticket. Antylogic saves it through the standard item update flow and refreshes the ticket detail when the save succeeds.

Before you start

  • You are working in the correct organisation and location, for example Harbor Demo Group / Harbor Soho.
  • You can open the TPV screen. The app requires `tpv:use` to show these operator pages.
  • The ticket is open, not voided or closed, and contains the product line you need to update.
  • If KDS is enabled, the product line has not been sent, started, or marked ready in the kitchen flow.
  • When operating with `tpv:use`, the ticket belongs to the active service session.
  • If the item already has a discount, the save can require `tickets:manage` or `tpv:discount` because the generic item update also carries discount fields.

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Open the ticket

Open the TPV ticket detail for the active Harbor Soho ticket and check that the product line you need to update is visible.

  2. 2.

    Select the product line

Press the product line that needs the instruction. The product editor opens with the current item values and the `Notas` field for that line.

  3. 3.

    Enter the note

Type the instruction in `Notas`, for example `No onion - serve sauce on the side`. The app ignores leading and trailing spaces when it checks whether the note changed.

  4. 4.

    Save the note

Press `Save`. After the update succeeds, the editor closes and the product line carries the saved-note state, such as the `Con notas` badge when visible.

Validations and limits

  • The editor opens only after a product line is selected.
  • The notes field is editable only when the ticket and, if applicable, kitchen state allow item edits.
  • `Save` becomes available only when the trimmed note text differs from the saved note.
  • If the note has not changed after trimming, no update is sent.
  • If the update fails, the optimistic ticket change is rolled back and the editor stays open with the configured error.
  • No maximum note length was confirmed, so keep notes concise.
  • Do not document clearing an existing note as supported; saving an empty note is unresolved in the verified flow.

Expected result

The product line keeps the trimmed note, the ticket detail is refreshed from the server, and the instruction remains attached to the specific item rather than the whole ticket.
