View the Reservations calendar
Use the Reservations calendar to review Harbor Soho's weekly booking schedule, combining service sessions, private events, closures, and live booking or guest counts when reservation access is available.
In this article
The Reservations calendar gives front-of-house and reservation managers one operating view for the week. It shows bookable service sessions alongside private events and location closures, so the team can read booking pressure without switching surfaces.
For Harbor Soho, the recommended documentation view is the weekly route anchored to the GB demo runtime. With reservation permissions, service cards can show reservation counts, guest totals, capacity state, booking mode, and whether the occurrence is complete.
Before you start
- You are signed in with Harbor Demo Group and Harbor Soho selected.
- Your role can open the Reservations calendar. Service entries need `service:view`, closures need `vacation:view`, and booking counts or occurrence details need `reservation:view` or `reservation:manage`.
- The contextual route is available, for example `/:orgId/:locationId/calendars/reservations?mode=week`.
- Harbor Soho has a valid timezone. The GB demo location uses `Europe/London`.
- The New reservation action is visible only when the user has `reservation:manage`.
Instructions
- 1.
Open Reservations
Open Reservations from the location navigation, or use the contextual route `/:orgId/:locationId/calendars/reservations?mode=week`. Week mode is the clearest operator view for services, private events, and closures in the active range.
- 2.
Navigate the week
Use Today and the date navigation controls to move through the calendar. The visible range is calculated in Harbor Soho's `Europe/London` timezone, so service dates and booking totals match the local operating day.
- 3.
Read service cards
Review entries such as Soho lunch service as the main booking blocks. When reservation access is available, cards can show reservation count, guest total, capacity state, booking mode, and completion state.
- 4.
Refresh booking data
Use refresh when recent booking changes should be reflected. The view reloads calendar events and, when reservation access is available, reloads service occurrences and reservations for the visible occurrence IDs.
- 5.
Open a service occurrence
Select a service entry to open the reservation occurrence detail. When the operator returns, the app preserves the same calendar mode and date range.
- 6.
Use private events and closures as context
Private events open the calendar event editor, read-only when the operator cannot manage services. Location vacation entries explain closures inside the Reservations calendar but do not open a reservation detail.
Validations and limits
- Only `day`, `week`, `month`, and `year` are accepted as calendar modes; missing or invalid mode values fall back to month view.
- Invalid `startDate` or `firstVisibleDate` values are ignored, and the UI uses a valid default date instead.
- The Reservations preset shows `service`, `private_event`, and `location_vacation` entries only.
- Waitlist and cancelled reservations are excluded from occupied booking counts.
- Without `reservation:view` or `reservation:manage`, occurrence and reservation loading is not enabled.
- A user with `reservation:view` but without `service:view` may pass the frontend page gate, but backend event loading can deny or omit service and private event entries.
- The New reservation action appears only with `reservation:manage`.
Expected result
The operator sees Harbor Soho's reservation week in one calendar, can refresh live booking totals, open service occurrence details when permitted, and understand private-event or closure context without leaving the planning surface.
