Update customer from reservation
Correct the name or phone number on an existing linked customer while editing the reservation that brought them into the service.
In this article
This guide is for front-of-house operators working from the reservation occurrence screen. The customer change is made inside the reservation editor, so the service list stays the operational starting point.
Antylogic saves the reservation first. When that succeeds, it updates the linked customer record with the edited name and phone number, refreshes the occurrence, and reloads the customer list.
Before you start
- The operator is signed in to Harbor Demo Group and working in Harbor Soho.
- The Soho lunch service occurrence is loaded from the reservations calendar or the occurrence deep link.
- The reservation already has a linked customer, such as Liam Scott. If no customer is linked, use the inline customer creation flow instead.
- The operator can view reservations. Saving also needs reservation management and customer management access.
Instructions
- 1.
Open the occurrence
Open the Harbor Soho service occurrence from the reservations calendar or the occurrence deep link. The detail page should show the reservation list, table assignments, and customer data for the service.
- 2.
Open the linked reservation
In the List tab, find the existing reservation for Liam Scott and choose Edit. This flow only applies when the reservation already has a customer linked to it.
- 3.
Change customer details
Update Customer name or Customer phone in the reservation editor. Keep the other reservation fields correct, because saving this form also saves party size, time, status, and table selections.
- 4.
Save the editor
Choose Save. Antylogic updates the reservation first, then updates the linked customer with the edited name and phone number, refreshes the occurrence context, reloads customers, and closes the editor.
Validations and limits
- Customer name cannot be blank after spaces are trimmed.
- Customer phone cannot be blank after spaces are trimmed.
- Party size must stay greater than zero.
- When table mode requires specific tables, at least one valid table must remain selected.
- This inline editor exposes only customer name and phone.
- If the occurrence is in waiting list mode, inline reservation editing is disabled from the main reservation surfaces.
- If the reservation save fails, Antylogic does not attempt the customer update.
- If the customer update fails, the form shows a save error and the reservation may already have been updated.
- Saving can also affect table assignments and optimisation state because the reservation is saved with the form.
Expected result
The occurrence list returns with refreshed reservation and customer data, so the updated customer name or phone is available from the same service detail workflow.
