Open Visual Table Selector

Open the visual floor-plan selector for a Harbor Soho reservation so operators can review zones, tables, table types, configured combinations and temporary selected-table state before returning to the reservation. This guide covers opening and reviewing the selector only; it does not save a table assignment.

In this article

Use the visual table selector when a reservation needs an explicit table decision and the operator needs to inspect the real floor plan before choosing tables.

The selector loads the layout for the current organisation and location, draws the plan from layout data, and can restore a temporary in-memory selection when the route includes a session id.

Before you start

  • The operator is signed in to Harbor Demo Group and working in the Harbor Soho location.
  • A valid Harbor Soho layout id is available, for example `BOOKING_TABLES_SELECTOR_LAYOUT_ID` in the GB demo runtime.
  • The layout contains zones, tables, table types, configured table combinations and native editor metadata.
  • The operator can reach the selector, and the backend layout request is allowed with `layout:view`.
  • In the embedded reservation editor, the reservation has a layout and its table mode requires explicit selection rather than `indifferent`.

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Open The Selector

From a reservation workflow such as Liam Scott's Harbor Soho booking, open the table-selection control. The same selector can be opened directly at `/:orgId/:locationId/reservations/tables/select?layoutId={layoutId}&occurrenceId={occurrenceId}&sessionId={sessionId}` when the current organisation, location and layout id are present.

  2. 2.

    Wait For The Layout

The app loads `GET /api/app/{orgId}/{locationId}/layouts/{layoutId}` and prepares the canvas. During this stage the operator may see `Cargando selector de mesas...` or, on web, `Preparando selector de mesas...` while the visual engine is prepared.

  3. 3.

    Review The Floor Plan

Use the opened selector to inspect zones, table labels, table-type colours, multi-table combinations, zoom and reset controls, and the capacity card shown in assignment mode. If the layout has no tables, the selector still opens but shows `No hay mesas para seleccionar.`

  4. 4.

    Use Temporary Selection State

When `sessionId` is present, the selector reads any in-memory draft for that session and displays matching selected tables. Changes update that draft only for the current JavaScript session; blank ids are ignored and duplicate table ids are removed.

  5. 5.

    Return To The Reservation

Use the back control to leave the dedicated selector. When `occurrenceId` is present, the app returns to the reservation occurrence detail; opening this selector does not call a save endpoint or persist a table assignment.

Validations and limits

  • If the requested plan is missing, the screen shows `No encontramos el plano solicitado.`
  • If the operator cannot view the selector, the screen shows `No tienes permisos para ver este selector de mesas.`
  • Deleted layouts, blank layout ids and layouts from another location are rejected by the layout load.
  • Unknown selected table ids are ignored after the layout payload is loaded.
  • No `POST`, `PUT` or `DELETE` request is part of this action.

Expected result

The operator sees the Harbor Soho floor plan selector with layout-driven table geometry and, when available, temporary selected-table feedback, then returns to the reservation without saving any assignment from this action.
